Japanese Sponge Swiss Roll
Japanese Swiss Roll are rolled up light & fluffy cakes that isn't too sweet and paired with whipped cream,fresh fruits or marmalade.Usually this roll will need a large numbers of egg but baking without eggs is one of my biggest passsion.In this recipe I have used jam filling inside the roll which gives a vibrant look and makes it more rich and delicious.So if you're fan of Swiss roll,do give this recipe a shot!!I'm very sure you will enjoy it as much as I did!!
Ingredients:
- All purpose flour-3/4 cup
- Yoghurt-1 cup
- Sugar-1/2 cup
- Veg oil -1/2 cup
- Vanilla essence-1 ts
- Baking soda-1/2 ts
- Baking powder -1 1/2 ts
- Fruit Jam-1/2 cup
Procedure:
- Grease & line a baking tin and preheat oven to 180'c.
- Add sugar to yoghurt and beat well.Add veg oil & vanilla essence and mix well.
- Take all purpose flour,baking powder,baking soda and pinch of salt in a bowl and mix.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and whisk well.Add a pinch of yellow food colour to get a light yellow batter.
- Pour this batter into the prepared baking tin and bake for 15-20 minutes& Cool completely.
- Spread a melted jam filling on the cake evenly.
Rollup the cake and make a tight roll.Place on serving tray,Cover & chill,Decorate if desired , Slice and enjoy!!!
