You know every time I bake something and I marvel at how just simple ingredients put together at preheat temperature and time,convert it into the most delectable yummies.Baking is a lot like life,Timing is everything.You have to just live and take chances...Today I am baking fresh orange cake,This citrus cake brings warmth and so much flavour,the fresh orange juice gives it a light yellow colour.
What I love about this cake is the texture,soft and moist and flavourful.This cake is very easy to make,just grab your cup and spoon and a beater!!Very fuss free,easy orange cake is done and my quest for the perfect orange cake ends here!!or so:)So I'm hoping you are going to try the recipe and have a bite of what I call a tiny portion of life...
Ingredients:
All purpose flour-1 1/2 cup
Baking soda-1/2 ts
Baking powder-1 1/2 ts
Yoghurt/curd-1/2 cup
Sugar-3/4 cup
Butter-1/2 cup
Orange juice-1/2 cup
Orange zest-1 ts
Procedure:
Preheat the oven at 180'c and grease the baking tin.
Mix dry ingredients all purpose flour,baking soda and baking powder .
In a separate bowl take yoghurt and mix with sugar and pinch of salt and whisk till sugar dissolves.Add melted butter and stir well.
Add orange zest and orange juice and whisk well.
Combine with dry ingredients and make a lump free mixture.
Pour it into a baking tin and bake for 30 minutes.Cool completely and enjoy!!!
For icing: Melt white chocolate in a bowl in microwave and mix with fresh cream and whisk well for10-15 minutes.Then cool it in the refrigerator for 1/2 an hour. Cut the cake with a sharp knife and use bottom layer as top layer.Then put icing between both layers and on the top of the cake.Mix food colour in 1/4 cup of icing and fill it in a icing cone and make design on the cake.
