Most impressive of this Tokari Chaat also called as basket chaat is the edible bowl it is served in.I always wondered that how can a simple fistful of ingredients and sauces create something so delicious.This is my version of Bhel chaat so probably not as authentic as you find in Mumbai.
Ingredients:
- Puffed Rice-1/2 cup
- Bread slices-6-7 piece
- Finely chopped tomatoes-1/4 cup
- Finely chopped onions-1/4 cup
- Roasted peanuts-1/4 cup
- Boiled potatoes-1/4 cup
- Chopped green chilli-1/2 ts
- Sev-1/4 cup
- Tomato ketchup-1ts
- Chopped coriander leaves-2ts
- Green chutney-1 ts
Procedure:
- Keep the bread on rolling board & with the help of rolling pin press applying pressure and rollout bread thinly.
- Take a muffins tray and place bread round in them to get a Tokari with folds. Grill for 6-7 minutes till they browned on the edges.
- Mix all the ingredients and chutney in a wide bowl,sprinkle salt,chaat masala and lemon juice.
- Put some filling in the Tokari and Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sev and serve.
