GHORYEBAH / Egyptian Butter Cookies

Ghorayebah which are Egyptian butter cookies and sometimes referred  as a Sand Biscuits or Queen Bracelets.This cookies are some of the most popular dessert in the entire Middle East.Egyptians are making these cookies from thousands of years and these cookies are melt in your mouth as soon as you taste it,sometimes melt in your hands before biting to it.I have been exploring middle eastern cuisine at home and I have no idea about Ghorayebah authentic recipe I found a lot of recipes on the net after after a tic-tac-toe I choose following recipe.These cookies were ready in no time and sooo easy and tasted so good . Hope you guys like theses butter cookies:)

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour-1 cup
  2. Butter-1/2 cup
  3. Sugar-1/4 cup
  4. Baking soda-1/2 ts
  5. Salt-1/4 ts
  6. Blanched Almonds-1/4 cup

Procedure:

  • Take butter in a wide bowl.Add sugar and beat for 3-4 minutes ad add all purpose flour,salt,baking soda and make a dough.
  • Roll it into small balls ,slightly press a nut onto the centre of each cookies.
  • Preheat the oven at 180'c and greased the baking tin.
  • Place the cookies on the baking tin 3 inches from each other.
  • Bake for 12-18 minutes and colour should be like ivory ,don't let it blush!!
  • Cool completely and serve.
