There is nothing more satisfying that actually baking bread from scratch and eating it with amul butter melting on it,Sweet basic moments...So today I am in my kitchen & am going to attempt making bread.It's the most wonderful feeling,so basic and yet so satisfying.ActuallyI had a little jar of homemade pesto sauce,That's why I tried braided Pesto bread which is a simple bread stuffed with pesto sauce shaped into wreath and baked to perfection.So really very very yummy,lift me up,piping hot only from 'Nia's mommy food trail....
Ingredients:
- All purpose flour-2 1/2 cup
- Instant yeast -2 ts
- Water-1 cup
- Salt-1 ts
- Olive oil-2 ts
- Pesto sauce-1/2 cup
Procedure:
- In a mixing bowl,Add flour, sugar salt,instant yeast and Mix well.Take lukewarm water In a bowl,Add oil to the water.
- Pour this water-oil mixture in the centre of flour mixture.Mix well with your fingertips till a smooth dough form and knead well for 5 minutes until it becomes elastic.Place the dough in a warm place and let the dough rise for 2 hours till it becomes double in size.
- After 2 hours take the dough out and knead for a while.Place the dough on floured surface and roll in rectangle shape on a rolling pin.
- Spread the pesto sauce all around just leaving 1/4
- Roll just like you roll a mat and seal the edges.
- Using a sharp knife cut it into 2 pieces and lift one piece over the other just like a braid and form a circle.Transfer it to a baking tray
- Preheat the oven to 220'c and bake for 30 minutes and Serve hot.
