Mahalabia / Middle Eastern Style Milk Pudding
Mahalabia is a creamy,rich and just sweet enough without being heavy,thick custard like milk pudding very flavourful Middle Eastern dessert.It is found in many middle eastern countries with each one claiming ownership but whatever it's origin if you like milky pudding then you are going to love this One.Mahalabia is essentially a milk dessert but you can play around with ingredients for example I have used whole milk in this recipe you can use condensed milk or you can also add cream in this pudding.
What appealed tome about this dessert it was easy to make and used so few ingredients yet so creamy and delicious.I love it with rose water that's make it so refreshing and fragrant and I also added little bit of rose syrup making it more flavourful and it get better when your dessert is not only bright & beautiful to look at,also low in calories.Here is how you can make this yummy dessert at your home and enjoy....
Ingredients :
- Milk-2 cup
- Corn starch-2ts
- Sugar-3to4 ts
- Rose water-1ts
- Rose syrup-1ts
Procedure :
- Heat milk in a heavy bottom pan and reduce it to1cup for the enriched flavour.
- Dissolves corn starch in 50 ml of cold milk and add to the pan.
- Stir in until thick.Add rose water rose syrup and sugar,Mix well.
Switchoff the flame.
- After being cooled down it should be medium thick.
- Keep it in the refrigerator to cool at least for2-3 hours.
- Serve with chopped dry fruits and garnish with dried or fresh rose petals that makes a great flavour contrast .Enjoyyy the creamy & yummy Mahalabia!!!!
