Every body is familiar with this chocolate & vanilla cake,either made in zebra or marbled style,the taste of it reminds of childhood probably for many of us.Chocolate and Vanilla when paired together create the most amazing combination of flavours ......Perfectly sweet, tender super moist in every bite.....So yum & heavenly delicious.
Trying to recreate the taste with I was familiar,changed some of the quantities.I used butter instead of oil and reduced the sugar ..The batter is so creamy and eye pleasant that you could just eat it as it is.If you give this recipe a try,I'd love to know what you think....
Ingredients:
- All purpose flour-1cup
- Baking powder-1ts
- Baking soda-1ts
- Sugar-3/4 cup
- Milk-3/4 cup
- Butter-1/2 cup
- Vanilla essence-1 ts
- Cocoa powder-2 ts
- Vinegar-1/2 ts
Procedure:
- Preheat the oven at 180' c & Grease the baking tin.
- Sieve all purpose flour & mix with baking powder & baking soda.
- In a separate bowl take milk and vinegar and mix well without any lumps.Mix sugar till it dissolves.Add melted butter & vanilla essence and mix till well blended.
- Now add dry ingredients to this & fold gently.
- Divide the batter into two equal portions and cocoa powder & 2 ts milk in one portion and mix nicely.
- Now most important part is assembling the batter into baking pan.For this take 2 ladle ,one for plain batter & another for cocoa powder.
- First put a ladleful of plain batter in the centre of cake tin and then pour a ladleful of cocoa batter in the centre of plain batter.Repeat the process till both batter are over and bake for 25-30 minutes.Cool completely,Slice & Enjoy !!!
