Creamy Caramel Custard

Caramel Custard is a popular French dessert with creamy caramel over silky custard. It is a light and tasty pudding having good amount of calcium energy and proteins.The slight bitterness of the caramel balance the sweetness of the custard....My husband &i have enjoyed this delicious dessert many time and I have made it so often it becomes a regular favourite at my home....The good thing about is that it is so simple and that's what is terrifying too.I think simple dishes should be executed flawlessly because they relay on techniques more than any thing.....For my version of creamy caramel custard I used little bit of veg gelatin & corn flour and baked in water bath.Hope you guys like this caramel custard!!!

Ingredients:

  1. Milk-1 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar-1/2cup
  3. Vanilla essence-1/2 ts
  4. Corn flour-2ts
  5. Veg gelatin-1ts

Procedure:

  • In a pan heat 1/4 cup sugar with 1ts water for caramelising and continue cooking till it becomes brown in colour.
  • Keep aside 1/2 cup of milk ,Mix corn flour vanilla essence,veg gelatin in this cold milk.
  • Boil remaining milk with sugar in a pan.When milk start boiling Add corn flour mixture & continue stir &cook until you get a smooth sauce.
  • Spread it all over the mould , Pour this mixture over the caramelised sugar in the mould and place the mould on a baking tray and bake for 30-35 minutes and let it cool completely and refrigerate it for 1to 2 hours.
  • Before serving,loosen the sides with a sharp knife & invert on a plate.Serve chilled and enjoy the yummy creme caramel custard!!!
