Healthy Tomato Basil Shorba
Tomato shorba is Indian style, little spicy and healthy version of making tomato soup.Tomato Shorba is always good as a starter with crusty bread or just have plain in cold weather.This Shorba is very healthy &nutritious and perfect sip on the cold winter days and The tempering of cumin seeds crackled in ghee gives it unique Indian touch.Hence for dinner,at least once a week I try to make this delicious soup.
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes-4-5med size
- Ginger-1ts chopped
- Ghee-1ts
- Chopped basil leaves
Procedure:
- Boil tomatoes in a pan on a medium flame for 10-15 minutes.Blend tomatoes in a mixer till smooth and strain it.
- Heat ghee in a pan add cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon stick and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add prepared tomatoes purée and enough water to correct consistency.Add salt ,little bit red chillies powder,chaat masala.Garnish with chopped basil leaves and serve hot.
- Note-you can also add boiled beet root or carrot to get dark red colour.
