Bharawan Shimla Mirchi /Stuffed Capsicum

Today I am with a simple delicious and comfy dish made with capsicum'Bharawan Shimla Mirchi'A very flavorful and tasty exotic side dish which makes the dining table more colourful and attractive.These stuffed capsicum are loaded with goodness of veggies and yummy ingredients creating a balance meal for everyone.I think sometimes people just need something simple as simple is better sometimes.For me also I just find myself happy with the simple things .Yes,A very simple with strong visual appeal ,healthy and delicious Bharawan shimla mirchi that is stuffed with medley of spices and potatoes & peas and you can use any kind of bell peppers-large or colourful.Now this is what I call my favourite food and It is regular at home .

It is also surprisingly easy to make,incredibly filling and yummy.Stuffed capsicum goes well very well on the side of any Indian flat bread hence it's a dried version of capsicum So you can pair it with Raita or Dal.You can make it in the oven too but if you make it in pan it will taste heavenly!! Stuffing enhances the flavour of the dish by giving it a distinct blended taste and you can vary the stuffing by adding paneer or different veggies or rice.Here goes the recipe...


Ingredients:

  1. Capsicum-2medium
  2. Potatoes-2 large
  3. Peas -1/4 cup
  4. Oil for frying 
  5. Chopped onions -1/4 cup
  6. Chopped green chilli-1/2 ts

Procedure:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds began to pop,Add chopped onions green chilli and sauté for sometimes.Then add salt,red chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,Garam masala and dry mango powder.
  • Add boiled potatoes and peas to the mixture and mash them coarsely and coating them in masala .Switchoff the flame and keep aside.

  • Cut the top part of the capsicum and remove all the seeds and sprinkle some salt in the hollowed capsicum then put the stuffing and press lightly.
  • Then fry it in nonstick pan with some oil for 10-15 minutes.

  • Or Bake in the microwave at 200' c for 10 minutes and serve hot.
